Subject:
[Avodah] reward?

Question asked of a rabbi who reported the halacha as being that a Jewish
institution could take funds from a non-jew as long as he received honor
for it because in that case there would be no existential reward granted
him. Someone in the audience asked if that?s the case is the same thing
true that if a Jew had donated and was given honor, that he would not
receive existential reward? The Rabbi answered a Jew is different and moved
on. I was wondering if anybody knows of any sources why that would be
different for a Jew versus a non-Jew.

Perhaps said rabbi holds by the train of thought found in the Zohar,
Peri Eitz Chaim (R Chaim Vital's understanding of the Ari) and the
Baal haTanya on chessed le'umim chatas.

Ve'ein kan hamaqom leha'arikh. But if you don't know where I am
going, we can email privately.

Tir'u baTov!
